CATUR PARAMITA SEBAGAI PENDEKATAN LATIHAN YOGA ASANA DI STAHN GDE PUDJA MATARAM

Abstract


Education is a process to improve the quality of Human Resources. Education is carried out with various approaches, one of which is a humanistic approach. Hinduism has the concept of Catur Paramita , which consists of Maitri, Karuna, Mudita, and Upeksa. This concept can be applied as a humanistic approach in an effort to help students recognize their potential. At STAHN Gde Pudja Mataram, the practice of yoga asanas that carried out by UKM Yoga will be examined from the perspective of the Catur Paramita  concept.

This research focuses on the correlation between the humanistic approach with the concept of the Catur Paramita  and also the application of the Catur Paramita  concept in the practice of yoga asanas at STAHN Gde Pudja Mataram. The type of this research is qualitative. The data in this study were obtained through structured interviews, direct observation, documentation, and also literature study. The data that has been obtained is then analyzed descriptively qualitatively.

The results of the study found that there was a correlation between the humanistic approach of motivational theory from Abraham Maslow and the concept of the Catur Paramita , which were presented in five basic needs with their fulfillment supported by aspects of Maitri, Karuna, Mudita, and Upeksa. In addition, the practice of yoga asanas at STAHN Gde Pudja Mataram also practically applies the concept of the Catur Paramita  to generations, which ultimately helps students discover the unique potential that exists in themselves.
