PEMANFAATAN LIMBAH TEMPURUNG KELAPA SEBAGAI HIASAN PADA MEJA DAN KURSI PRODUKSI UD. GRANDETANG DI DESA LABUAPI LOMBOK BARAT

Abstract

This research was aimed to describe about the utilization of coconut sheel waste as ornament on tables and chairs produced by UD. Grandetang at Labuapi village of Labuapi disctrict West Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara Province. This research used descriptive qualitative approach with case study research applicable at the company under research. Variable in this research was single variable that focused on utilization of coconut sheel waste as ornament on tables and chairs. Data were collected by observation, interview and documentation. Based on the result of the research, it is concluded that thre were three motifs of ornament produced by UD. Grandetang as ornaments on tables and chairs. Those three motifs have own characteristics as follows: 1) triangle ornamen with its classic motif; 2) elongated ornament with dense and a neat look; 3) irregular ornament with abstract look. UD. Grandetang used traditional and modern tools like small knife, clamp, small sickle, compressor, electric grinding. Based on the research finding, it is suggested to UD. Grandetang to try new innovation in using material and tolls and new innovation in motifs of ornament as well.
