KEEFEKTIFAN METODE PQRST DALAMMEMBACA PEMAHAMAN TEKS BACAANBAHASA INGGRIS PADA MAHASISWA UNIVERSITAS NUSA TENGGARA BARAT TAHUN AKADEMIK 2017/2018

Abstract

This research aimed to know the different ability on reading comprehension English reading  text before and after using PQRST method and to know the effectiveness of PQRST method on reading comprehension English reading text. The research was conducted at Nusa Tenggara Barat University. The population of the research was the First Semester students in academic year 2017/2018 and there were 32 students taken as samples by simple random sampling technique. Data were obtained from the result of both pre-test and post-test. Based on statistics test analysis byt test showed the result that the application of PQRST method showed the different score before and after applying the PQRST method. Based on t-testresult got change in score in the amount of 9.531 and it meant significant. Students’ score when pre test was dominant in 60 changed into 70-75 in post test. It meant that PQRST method is effective to develop reading comprehension on English reading text for students of Nusa Tenggara Barat University in the academic year 2017/2018.
