HUBUNGAN KEMAMPUAN BAHASA INGGRIS PROFESI DENGAN PREFERENCE KERJA MAHASISWA PARIWISATA SEKOLAH TINGGI PARIWISATA MATARAM

Abstract


The aim of this study is to find out the relationship between English language skills of Tourism Students with their preferred job in hospitality. The sample of this research were the students Tourism college of the Mataram in academic year 2018/2019. The data were collected by utilizing research instrument consisting of 3 types of instruments, namely: questionnaire, interview and English proficiency test. Data were analyzed using two approaches with the quantitative approach and the qualitative approach. Quantitative approach using statistical analysis (the relationship between student ability and student work preferences) and descriptive qualitative approach (Language assessment). Quantitative data processing was done using statistical correlation analysis test with the help of SPSS. The statistical analysis results showed that the Pearson score was 0.709 with sig (2 tailed) 0.000, this means there is a strong relationship between students' English proficiency with the chosen work preference
