HUBUNGAN PENGETAHUAN DAN SIKAP IBU RUMAH TANGGA DENGAN TINDAKAN PENGELOLAAN SAMPAH BERBASIS 3R (REDUCE, REUSE DAN RECYCLE) DI DESA TENGGULUN KABUPATEN ACEH TAMIANG TAHUN 2019

Abstract

The waste problem in Indonesia is one of the most complicated problems due to the lack of public awareness of the consequences that waste can cause. This study aims to determine the relationship between knowledge and attitudes of housewives with 3R-based waste management actions (reduce, reuse and recycle) in Tenggulun Village, Aceh Tamiang District. This research is analytical with a cross sectional study design. The sample in this study were 81 respondents who were housewives. Data were analyzed by univariate and bivariate using Chi square test. The results showed that there is a relationship between knowledge of housewives and 3R-based waste management measures (Reduce, Reuse and Recycle) in Tenggulun Village, Aceh Tamiang Regency with a p-value (0.036). There is a relationship between the attitude of housewives and 3R-based waste management measures (Reduce, Reuse and Recycle) in Tenggulun Village, Aceh Tamiang District with a p-value (0.020). Based on the research results, suggestions were put forward for the need to increase public awareness of the importance of waste management in order to create a clean environment.
