UPACARA PERANG TOPATDI PURA LINGSAR KECAMATAN LINGSAR KABUPATEN LOMBOK BARAT (Kajian Pendidikan Agama Hindu)

Abstract


Sasak Wetu Telu tribe carries out Upacara Perang Topat (Topat War Ceremony). The ceremony aims at asking for a gift of salvation, fertility, and also it is as a form of thanks to the spirit of their ancestors. The ceremony will not take place if Lingsar temple ceremony not be carried out because pujawali ceremony of Lingsar temple and upacara perang topat cannot be separated each other like two sides of a coin. The ceremony has some stages, namely: 1) preparation, 2) preliminary ceremony, 3) highlight of the ceremony, 4) lalang (rest period), 5) closing ceremony. The ceremony is carried out systematically through various series of ritual ceremonial processions to relive the history of the origins of the Lingsar Village and the history of the establishment of Lingsar Temple. Role holders of the ceremony are pendeta (priest), pemangku, kerama pura lingsar (Lingsar Temple community), department of Tourism and Culture, West Lombok regent and his staffs and Lingsar District villager. The ceremony has important role and function in the context of building educational values of participants, researchers, and also visitors of the Topat War ceremony because it has some values: 1) social education, 2) cultural education, 3) education of symbol philosophy, 4) spiritual education, 5) psychology education. The ceremony has very deep meanings including: 1) as an application of panca yadnya, 2) as an application of tri hita karana, as an application of tatwam asi, 4) having socio-cultural meaning, 5) having meaning of Hindu religious education, 6) having religious meaning, 7) having a political element, 8) as a form of tolerance between interreligious communities, 9) as a form of struggle and sportsmanship.
